  • All training sessions are multimedia oriented and are projected on a big screen (Big Picture Thinking!).
  • Every alternate session is earmarked for game training and tournament preparation.
  • The relevant training sessions are supplemented by adequate home-work (without affecting the normal studies of the students) so that they remain in touch with the game.
  • At the end of the relevant course, the students are individually assessed by way of a theoretical and practical examination.
  • The trainees are also given an opportunity to participate in the BCA events held regularly. In addition, they are encouraged to participate at the various level of Chess Tournaments.

The BCA Team will help you to:

  • Develop chess skills through repetition of patterns
  • Develop a chess playing style
  • Set chess goals and develop a plan to achieve these goals
  • Improve your weaknesses
  • Develop good tournament strategies
  • Develop a sound opening repertoire
  • Keep you motivated before or during a tournament or match
  • Keep you focused on the game and help you stay calm if you fail

The Lessons

The lesson duration is 2 hours, it consist of three parts:

  • Part 1 - Teaching
  • Part 2 - Worksheets
  • Part 3 - Playing
  • In the teaching part, the coach will review previous topics and explain the new one, using computer and projector, demo board or regular chess set (depending on the number of students and the topic). The teacher will make sure that the students have learned the previous topics well and they learn new material from the presented topic.
  • In the worksheets part, students will solve exercises from the current topic, that are made systematically for their level of knowledge. The exercises are solved on paper or computer. The teacher will guide students all the way through the exercises, helping them to understand the material.
  • In the playing part, students are playing with each other and the teacher. The teacher will monitor their games and point out the errors and give advices.

Playing is one of the crucial parts in chess progress. That is why we strongly encourage all of our students to take part in real chess tournaments where they can test their progress, face stronger competition and together with their trainer to find out their weaknesses and areas they should improve.
